Brian potted up this plant from one of the seedlings growing in his yard. It sat in the pot for a year and I thought it had died. I went to get the soil out of the bucket to use for another plant I was potting and found that it wasn’t dead! It was alive and trying to put out new sprouts. I watered it and moved it out into the sun and it quickly put out leaves.

It was planted in the ground in April and so far it’s doing well. I am nervous that the spot I planted it does not get enough sun. I put it next to the old oak tree next to the driveway. That oak tree is probably going to die in the next five years, so by the time the Redbud gets big it will help fill in the spot of that wonderful old tree.

Anyway I hope it lives and gets enough sun to bloom. There aren’t any blooms this year, maybe next year. Updates as it develops…
