Little Reds

This small weedy flower is growing in little patches and clumps around the front yard in the lawn. It gets mowed down, but it comes back and there are little bits of it scattered around in odd places.

There is a larger grouping of it near the South side of the house where I have been letting it reseed undisturbed. It seems to be multiplying in this area and some of the stems are taller with more blooms.
As best I can tell it is Texas Betony… but it could be a Salvia…not sure of the difference between the two. Since this seems to be more wild I will label it as Betony until finding out more specific info.
It is pretty and the bright red flowers really stand out. It starts blooming in early spring and blooms until it gets really hot. It comes back in the fall and as of late November it is in full bloom.
