The Dahlias are finally starting to bloom; it seems like they have buds forever before they open! I like the flowers but I think they need something because they don't look as good as what I expected. Maybe they didn't get enough fertilizer or water...or maybe they aren't getting enough sun, or maybe it is too hot, who knows. They seem a little on the droopy side and the tips of the petals are brownish because the buds took so long to open; it seems like they got burned. Honestly I am not sure what the problem is, maybe the next buds to open up will look better. They are pretty flowers even though they are struggling to survive. I wish I could figure out what they need!

03.18.05 ::I just bought these bulbs at the
nursery and
haven't
even had time to plant them yet! I will report back later in the
summer when they are
blooming. Wish me luck!
