Pink Explosion
The
older trees near the fence line exploded with color and
blooms after it finally rained. These large trees have bright pink
blooms but
they don't stay around as long as some of the other crepe myrtle trees
in the neighborhood.
They also bloom later in the fall than the other trees around here.
The
smaller trees
that I planted a couple of years ago barely had any blooms so
far. I
think the drought kept them from really blooming because they are so
young.
Hopefully next year there will be more blooms on them. They are getting
bigger,
so that is a good sign!

Early Fall Color
Fall
color from the crepe myrtle leaves in 2005, asters and begonias in the background.
I
planted this little crepe mrytle tree "Natchez White" in spring of
2004. There are some large pink crepe myrtles along the North fence
that were planted by my grandparents.
