Leaves,
Leaves, Leaves,
and MORE Leaves!
![]() ![]() This week I was preoccupied with raking the leaves, by hand! The bags seen above only represent half of all the leaves collected in the front yard where we have eleven large oak trees and one catalpa. There is still the back and side lawns, and the flowerbeds to finish. Texas is DRY! With all the fires we have been having lately, I felt like I was sitting on a powder keg of dried debris in the yard and around the house. Even though I usually keep the leaves on the ground until the last frost, using them as a mulch to protect the grass and flowers; I decided it might be a good idea to go ahead and get them off the ground "just in case". Not that this would stop a fire, but hopefully it would slow it down. It is January and I am running the water sprinkler to keep the ground from cracking! We seriously need some rain, and I seriously need a brand new riding law mower-tractor with power steering that cuts grass, collects, and mulches leaves! ![]() |
