I was going to start this year off by playing along with the other garden bloggers who participate in “Bloom Day” …but alas the 15th came around and I got no flowers. ..sniff sniff.

This made it kind of hard to start playing in the cool kid’s sandbox.  So I hereby declare my own rule…that there should be a five day grace period for beginners!

So, seeing as there is now a new addendum to Bloom Day;  I can post this daffodil that came out last night as a bona fide bloom day entry! …And a near perfect specimen if I do say so myself.

Yes that is all I have…stop laughing!

I really need to get some pansies.

gif_illustration_htmlbugs

There are still a few bugs in the blog.  Mainly the comments feature and page columns have been giving me problems …ggggrrrrrrrrrrr …hhhmmmpf!

Trying to find out why it doesn’t work right has been making my head spin and all this .html code is starting to run together and look like a tiny mass of microscopic organisms.  I should have expected this wouldn’t be as simple as I had delusionally hoped.  I always seems to start new projects just when I have a million other things to do. Despite the coding errors, I have managed to put up some of the more popular plantlist pages from the old blog and I will be adding more to the sidebar menu soon.  If you were brought to this page via a search engine still linking to the old site pages and couldn’t find what you were looking for, I apologize…but keep checking and things should be resolved… uhm… eventually?

I can’t quit nit-picking over the small design details; but I will have to settle it soon because the garden is about to demand a lot more attention.

The weather has been nice the last couple of days and it’s suppose to be warm and sunny again tomorrow. I was out for a bit today poking around and you could feel the spring karma in the air…a certain kind of energy being released by everything around me.  It gave me that pressing feeling, you know the one I mean…that frantic excited feeling…the one that says, “You better get it together…and FAST…because the garden is about to pop!

Minty Fresh

Hey Garden peeps…

Big changes are going on here at Deirdre’s Garden Diary…we’re going green!

But your saying, “Hey I thought you were already green?” … and I would remind you that sometimes things are brown…but that’s a whole other topic.  We’re green because this site has a new green server, Acorn Host.  I’m pretty excited about it and this change brings us one tiny step closer in trying to help the climate by choosing a business that’s earth friendly.

The site design, layout and functions have also been updated with Word Press.  Now you can make comments and link to the pages easier.  I will be digging around and playing with some different features and looks over the next few weeks, so you might find some changes happening here and there while I work out all the bugs.

If you have been here before you may notice that the plant index is gone; but I will have those pages back out as soon as possible along with the monthly archived pages from the old site.  There will be a lot more growth in the future for this space…hopefully I will still have hair left when it has all been completed and you will come back and check in with me as we spread out and take root. :)

Thanks for stopping by. Please leave a comment and let me know how it’s going…

Happy Gardening Everyone!
~Deirdre
